Memorial Day Cookout with Dogs for Veterans

On Memorial Day, Subaru of South Hills opened our doors — and our grill — to the community for a cookout dedicated to connection, gratitude, and honoring those who serve. What began as a simple gathering quickly became one of the most meaningful events we've hosted. We were proud to welcome Dogs for Veterans, who set up a table to meet guests, share their mission, and offer merchandise that supports their life‑changing work. They brought along one of their top service dogs, Foxy, who instantly became the star of the day. Families, customers, and especially veterans gravitated toward her, sparking conversations that were heartfelt, healing, and full of pride. Throughout the afternoon, many veterans approached our team and the Dogs for Veterans representatives to share how much it meant to have an event like this held on Memorial Day. Some spoke about their service, others about the importance of support animals, and many simply expressed gratitude for a space where they felt seen and appreciated. The highlight of the day came when we presented Dogs for Veterans with a check for $21,459 — funds raised through Subaru's Share the Love Event and the generosity of our customers. Seeing their reaction, and hearing how this donation will directly support veterans in need of service dogs, reminded us why the Subaru Love Promise matters. As the grill cooled and the last conversations wrapped up, one thing was clear: this wasn't just a cookout. It was a moment of community, compassion, and commitment — a day where we honored our veterans not just with words, but with action. And that's the heart of the Subaru Love Promise.

A Cold Day, A Warm Mission: Subaru Love Promise Coat Delivery

On a bitter –7° Pittsburgh morning, our team bundled up, loaded the Subaru Ascents, and made our way to the Boys & Girls Club to deliver this year's donation. This marks our second year partnering with this incredible organization, and the sense of purpose felt even stronger as we pulled into the lot. Despite the cold, the welcome was warm. As soon as we arrived, everyone—staff, volunteers, and our team—worked side by side to carry in box after box filled with children's coats. It took multiple Subaru Ascents to transport them all, a sight that reminded us just how meaningful this effort has become. Once everything was inside, we had the chance to talk with the Boys & Girls Club team. They shared stories about the children who received coats last year—how those coats carried them through winter, how some kids still come in wearing them, and how grateful they are to be sized up into a new one this year. Hearing the impact firsthand was a powerful reminder of why the Subaru Love Promise matters. I'm truly grateful to be part of this program. Moments like these show that warmth isn't just something you wear—it's something a community creates together.

Greater Love Ministries, Inc.

Dear Michael, Greater Love Ministries would again like to take this opportunity to thank you for your prayers and support of our efforts to serve the youth of Homestead and Munhall and the surrounding Steel valley community, sharing the love of Jesus Christ! we have been encouraged by what the Lord has done this past year! During 2025, the middle and high school boys from the area that attend our weekly meetings have been very consistent. They come to Anne Ashley Community Church in Munhall after school, where we play some basketball and offer a gospel message. With this consistency each week, we have begun to develop more meaningful relationships with the boys. Special thanks go to Pastor Keith Kaufold at Anne Ashley for his tireless support! We did take a group to Jumonville Christian Camp and Retreat Center for a week this past summer for HOPE Camp. Although our attendance was smaller than some previous visits, that enabled us to have some life changing discussions with the guys, that would not have been possible with the larger groups! We also have continued to incorporate outings for the group during this past year which included a pizza party, a coat drive, and Pitt football game. We did start a new program at the Homestead Carnegie Library's gym and athletic facility this past spring. We offered a six-week, free Martial Arts training sessions... The response was very encouraging with a new and much different group of middle and high schoolers that attended. Please pray for this program, as we hope to expand our scope in the community. The other new dimension was that Pastor Keith has added a monthly bible study program on Sunday evenings, promoting character development and leadership. Thank you for your investment in our mission to reach the youth in the area for Jésus. Our prayers for 2026 are for other leaders and volunteers to help us join us in reaching more of these young lives now, bringing the love of Christ into their world! We continue to solicit your prayers and support that the Lord would bless this work. Thanks again! Yours in Christ Pat Devlin, Greater Love Ministries, Inc.

Pittsburgh Children's Hospital- Loves to Care

Subaru South Hills dropped off blankets and care kits for children dealing with cancer. Each kit was thoughtfully packed with comfort items—soft fleece blankets, journals, crayons, and hygiene essentials—meant to bring a little light into a difficult journey. This act was part of the Subaru Love Promise, a commitment to making a positive impact in the community and showing love and respect to all people. During the visit, we had the honor of meeting one of the young patients—a brave boy whose resilience and spirit left a lasting impression on everyone present. Despite the challenges he faced, his smile radiated hope, and his courage reminded us why these small gestures matter so deeply.

Subaru of South Hills Loves Pets!

❤️ Subaru of South Hills Loves Pets — A Love Promise Story with Angel Ridge At Subaru of South Hills, we believe every pet deserves a loving home, a full belly, and a second chance. That’s why our team partnered with Angel Ridge Animal Rescue — a local organization dedicated to saving, healing, and rehoming animals in need — as part of the Subaru Loves Pets initiative. This October, We hosted adoption events where customers could meet adoptable pets, and share hugs! Our team also collected donations of blankets, toys, and pet food — Seeing the smiles of families and the happy tail wags reminded us what the Subaru Love Promise is all about: making a difference where it matters most — in our own community. At Subaru of South Hills, love is more than a word — it’s our promise. And thanks to our friends at Angel Ridge Animal Rescue, we’re proving that when Subaru loves pets, love truly finds a home. 🐾💙

Subaru of South Hills and Tropical 5K Classic

At Subaru of South Hills, our Love Promise means more than selling cars — it’s about running alongside our neighbors, cheering them on, and celebrating the joy of community. This summer, we were proud to welcome runners, walkers, families, and friends to the Tropical 5K Classic. With bright colors, laughter, and energy filling the air, the event wasn’t just about finishing a race — it was about bringing people together to support wellness, positivity, and fun, while raising funds for the Stanley M Marks Blood Cancer Research Fund. As the photo booth sponsor, Subaru of South Hills was honored to provide a splash of encouragement at the starting line and celebrate with participants as they crossed the finish line. The vibrant backdrop of flamingos, pineapples, and tropical flair was the perfect reminder that wellness and joy go hand in hand. Events like this are what the Subaru Love Promise is all about — showing up, giving back, and helping our community thrive. Whether it’s through supporting local causes, encouraging healthy lifestyles, or simply bringing smiles to faces, we’re dedicated to making a difference right here at home. From all of us at Subaru of South Hills, thank you to every runner and supporter who made the Tropical 5K Classic such a success. Together, we’re proving that when a community moves forward, we all win.

Subaru of South Hills Teams Up to Support Local Community

Imagine going without a coat, shoes, or even socks. For millions of children and adults experiencing homelessness and other urgent need situations across the country, even here in McMurray, this is a harsh reality. Helping others strengthens communities, which is why Subaru of South Hills is partnering with Operation Warm®, a national nonprofit focused on connecting children with the resources they need to thrive. Through this partnership and other Subaru Loves to Help® efforts, Subaru and retailers like Subaru of South Hills have helped nearly 900,000 children and adults in urgent need. On 01/20/2025, Subaru of South Hills donated 120 coats to Boys & Girls Club of Pittsburgh, East Carson Street. These essential items not only help keep children protected, warm, and dry, it can have a significant impact on a child's mental and emotional well-being.

Paws of Honor: Subaru of South Hills Promise to Veterans

In May, as part of our Subaru Love Promise commitment, we took a powerful step to serve those who’ve served us. We partnered with an incredible organization that trains and places life-changing service dogs with military veterans — and proudly donated funds to support their mission. These highly trained dogs don’t just offer companionship — they provide critical support for veterans living with PTSD, mobility challenges, and other service-related conditions. Each dog represents hope, healing, and a second chance at life. At Subaru of South Hills, we believe that love is not just a word — it’s action. And through this donation, we honor the brave men and women who’ve given so much, while extending our heartfelt thanks in the form of four paws, a wagging tail, and a bond that transforms lives. Because when you drive Subaru, you’re helping more than just yourself — you’re helping heroes stand tall again.

Subaru of South Hills Loves to Care Event

Subaru of South Hills Loves to Care – 2025 Operation Warm At Subaru of South Hills, caring for our community is more than a commitment—it’s a core part of who we are. That’s why, as part of our 2025 Subaru Loves to Care | Operation Warm initiative, we proudly organized and completed a winter coat donation drive that brought warmth and hope to individuals and families in need across our region. Throughout January and February 2025, our showroom transformed into a hub of generosity as we, along with Subaru, invited customers, employees, and neighbors to donate new and gently used coats. The response was overwhelming. Thanks to our incredible community, we collected over 75 coats, ranging in size. Each coat was carefully sorted and delivered to our partners at "The Boys & Girls Club of Pittsburgh", whose mission aligns with our own: to ensure every person in our community feels supported, seen, and cared for. The joy was unmistakable—whether it was a young child zipping up their very first winter coat or a teenager receiving a warm layer after braving the cold. These moments remind us that small acts of kindness, when multiplied, can make a lasting difference. We are grateful to every person who contributed, shared the word, or simply offered encouragement along the way. Together, we proved once again that Love is in the Air—and in the Warmth We Share. Subaru of South Hills remains committed to driving positive change, one coat and one caring gesture at a time.

Subaru Retailers Team Up to Support Hurricane Relief Efforts

At Subaru of South Hills, we’re always ready to step up and support our communities, especially in times of crisis. This commitment is at the heart of the Subaru Love Promise®. When Hurricanes Helene and Milton devastated the Eastern region, Subaru retailers like us immediately sprang into action. Alongside other Subaru retailers, Subaru of America, and local organizations, we assessed the most urgent needs in the affected areas. It quickly became clear that local food banks were struggling to keep up with the surge in demand as they worked to support people hit hardest by the storms. In response, we teamed up with 67 Subaru retailers across the region to launch a $400,000 match campaign to aid the hurricane relief efforts of Feeding America®. Subaru of South Hills proudly contributed $2000 to this initiative. While the immediate impact of the storms fades from the headlines, many of our neighbors continue to face long-term challenges like food insecurity, water shortages, power outages, and limited access to essential services. Thanks to the collective generosity of Subaru retailers and the communities we serve, an additional $18,427 was raised. This brings the total impact to $418,427, or over 4,100,000 meals for those in need. "As one of the nation's largest disaster relief organizations, the Feeding America network of food banks and partner agencies is deeply rooted in communities across the country. Together, our partnership with trusted Subaru dealers has helped expedite emergency food assistance and supplies to people who need it most. We are immensely grateful," said Feeding America Chief Development Officer Casey Marsh.

Helping the Community

Greater Love Ministries is very grateful for your generous support serving the youth of Homestead, Pa and the surrounding community. Your gift of gift cards will go a long way to support needy families this Thanksgiving and Christmas. We handed out turkeys for Thanksgiving and will be handing out hams for Christmas. We want to thank the staff at Subaru of South Hills from the bottom of our hearts.

Subaru Loves Pets Adoption

Once upon a crisp autumn weekend in the vibrant town of Peters Township, Subaru of South Hills transformed its usual bustling showroom into a haven of wagging tails and playful barks. The dealership had partnered with Angel Ridge Animal Rescue to host a special two-day pet adoption event. Excitement buzzed in the air as visitors roamed through makeshift adoption areas that had been set up in the showroom. Families, couples, and animal enthusiasts wandered from kennel to kennel, each filled with furry friends eagerly wagging their tails at the prospect of finding their forever homes. Children giggled with delight a puppy frolicked around them, while adults chatted with veterinarian volunteers, learning how to care for their potential new companions. The sun shone brightly, casting a warm light over the proceedings. Subaru's staff members welcomed attendees with enthusiastic smiles and offered test drives, explaining how Subaru's pet-friendly vehicles were perfect for adventurous pet owners. Subaru of South Hills and Angel Ridge Animal Rescue were thrilled with the event's success, having brought the community together and changed the lives of so many pets and families. With smiles all around, the event concluded with the promise of more collaborations in the future, ensuring that the partnerships and friendships formed during this heartwarming weekend would continue to flourish.

Blessings

Today, I experienced an act of generosity at Subaru of South Hills. Sarah, one of the staff members, and Dan, the General Manager, went above and beyond to assist me during a challenging time. I had a chance encounter with Sarah while I was there getting our car serviced. We got to talking, and I opened up about some of the challenges my family has been facing lately. I mentioned that while we were getting necessary work done on our car, we were facing financial difficulties. My husband and I care for our daughter and two grandkids, because of some serious health issues my daughter has suffered. But God has always seen us through. When she talked to me again, she said she talked to the General Manager to see if they could help. They ended up taking care of the entire bill, saving us from not being able to pay the mortgage. They have been there for us since we bought the car here. Coming here is like coming home. The plants make a warmth and caring atmosphere along with the best people ever. I pray God returns 100 times to this place what they blessed me with today.

Subaru share the love with rescue dogs

Subaru of South Hills has helped South Hills Pet Rescue for quite a few years. We are very proud to be their partner !! We love doing adoption events here .. We had 25 of our dogs adopted through these events. Subaru has been very gracious with us money wise as well. Without support like this from our partnership with Subaru we would not be able to still save dogs. The monetary donation helps with our "adoption ready " program. That program provides vaccines, spay/neuter, microchip and collars to the dogs so that they have the ability to be adopted. It has helped us save dogs like Nico. He was a breeder dump on us at 8 weeks old. Neither of his eyes developed and we eventually had to remove his eyes. He had a wonderful foster whose dogs personal dogs became his eyes and gave him the confidence to be a loving normal dog. We are very pleased he was a foster fail and the foster adopted him.

Our back medical bills are huge since we are one of the bigger rescues in the area. We had an event there with 10 dogs and six of them got adopted thanks to the event !! They did a great job advertising the event and we had a great turnout with people. They help get the word out we are here and have a lot of great dogs available for adoption. We are proud to be a rescue Partner to South Hills Subaru !!

Life Saving Impact

On October 23rd, 2021, the Washington Area Humane Society (WAHS) joined Subaru of South Hills to celebrate Subaru Loves Pets Month. A WAHS volunteer was able to introduce one of our long-term cat residents, Sunshine, to the Subaru of South Hills team and their customers. Sunshine enjoyed his time out of the shelter environment and was able to meet potential adopters. Update: Sunshine has since been placed into a foster home and is thriving. He enjoys spending time with his foster mom while she works. The WAHS also received a very generous donation from the Subaru of South Hills team that will go a long way in caring for more of Washington County’s orphaned and abused animals while they wait for their forever home. Buster (pictured below), stopped by to say thank you to the team who supported him while he waited at the WAHS for his forever home. The WAHS is so grateful to community businesses, like Subaru of South Hills, who are committed to supporting our mission and allowing us to continue our life-saving work.

Subaru Loves Pets and Humane Animal Rescue

This October, Humane Animal Rescue celebrated Subaru Loves Pets Month, promoting adoptable pets. This year special emphasis was placed on the importance of adopting “Underdogs” – hard to adopt shelter dogs (senior dogs, dogs with special needs, etc.) We are happy to share the story of a very special pair of dachshunds who touched everyone’s hearts. Jacob and Emily are a match made in heaven! They came to Humane Animal Rescue after their owner passed away. They are both 15 and have a few health issues but that doesn’t slow them down! They’re so, so sweet and they absolutely love each other. They don’t mind other dogs. Nothing seems to ruffle their feathers. We have to admit, it was a little bittersweet seeing our favorite seniors go, but there is no doubt they're living it up in their new forever home!

Subaru Loves Learning and Pittsburgh Brookline!

Pittsburgh Brookline PreK-8 was honored to receive a donation of 150 STEM books from the Subaru Loves Learning Initiative and Subaru of South Hills! Our staff and students were so excited to unbox and deliver the books throughout the school. The selection of books was informative, fun and fits right into our curriculum! It was so wonderful to see that each grade level, from our littlest Preschool kids to our middle school learners were considered and provided for. The books will be placed in our science classrooms as well as in our library to ensure that each student has access to them and chance to learn from them. Once again, thank you so much for nominating our school through the Subaru Loves Learning Initiative! The generous donation of 150 STEM books will enrich our curriculum and our students’ daily learning. We are truly honored to be a part of this program and look forward to working together to bring STEM education to our students and community. And as you can see, our students are very excited too! The assistance of parents and community members like you have enabled our students to accomplish far more than we otherwise could have alone.

Subaru of South Hills Delivers Love, Hope, Warmth

On July 11, patients at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center in Bethel Park were delighted to receive a surprise courtesy of Subaru of South Hills. With the goal of providing simple comforts to people fighting cancer, the McMurray dealership donated 80 blankets and brought heartwarming messages of hope written by Subaru customers and staff, meant to inspire patients throughout their battle. Ihor Koval, General Sales Manager at Subaru of South Hills, was joined by Kipp Smiley to deliver the items to the cancer center. UPMC Senior Practice Manager Ashley Southern thanked Ihor and Kipp for their help and mentioned how much the patients have loved the blankets in the past. Subaru of South Hills has partnered with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), Western Pennsylvania & West Virginia Chapter, on their annual “Subaru Loves to Care” event since 2016. Over four years, the dealership has donated 340 brand-new blankets to their neighbors in need. This simple gesture goes a long way toward making treatment a little more bearable for patients, who often get cold during chemotherapy even in the middle of a hot summer. Thank you, Subaru of South Hills, for partnering with LLS and the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center in Bethel Park for this donation. You have our sincere gratitude for bringing hope and warmth to cancer patients and survivors.
