Whether they live in our homes or in the wild, Subaru is committed to keeping all animals safe and healthy.

A partner since 2008, Subaru has donated over $28 million to the ASPCA and through Subaru Loves Pets has helped support the rescue, transport, adoption and well-being of over 230,000 animals across the country.

Loving the environment means more than loving the great outdoors. It means working to preserve it.

Since 2018, Subaru has partnered with TerraCycle.  Participating Subaru retailers collect hard-to-recycle trash that was headed to local landfills. We collect approximately 2 tons of this hard-to-recycle trash monthly, which will be converted to furnishings and other usable items and donated locally.

It’s our goal to make the pursuit of knowledge available to as many minds as possible.

Since 2015 Subaru, in partnership with the American Association for the Advancement Science, donated over 277,600 award-winning science books.  In addition, through our partnerships with Staples and we supported teachers and students with donations of S400,000 in gift cards and school supplies.

In a perfect world, hunger would be history and hope would be commonplace. We believe a perfect world is possible.

In 2020, Subaru and its retailers made a donation to Feeding America to provide 50 million meals to help feed people in need during the COVID-19 crisis,* making meals available at 199 local food banks across the country.
*$1 helps provide at least 10 meals secured by Feeding America on behalf of local member food banks.

We should all have a chance to lead a healthy life. We’re aiming to give as many people that chance as we can.

Since 2016, Subaru and its retailers have partnered with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) to donate over 167,000 blankets and 21,500 arts & crafts kits and reached nearly 150,000 patients in more than 780 hospitals nationwide.

Subaru Loves Learning and Pittsburgh Brookline!  –  Amy J

Pittsburgh Brookline PreK-8 was honored to receive a donation of 150 STEM books from the Subaru Loves Learning Initiative and Subaru of South Hills! Our staff and students were so excited to unbox and deliver the books throughout the school. The selection of books was informative, fun and fits right into our curriculum! It was so wonderful to see that each grade level, from our littlest Preschool kids to our middle school learners were considered and provided for. The books will be placed in our science classrooms as well as in our library to ensure that each student has access to them and chance to learn from them. Once again, thank you so much for nominating our school through the Subaru Loves Learning Initiative! The generous donation of 150 STEM books will enrich our curriculum and our students’ daily learning. We are truly honored to be a part of this program and look forward to working together to bring STEM education to our students and community. And as you can see, our students are very excited too! The assistance of parents and community members like you have enabled our students to accomplish far more than we otherwise could have alone.

Subaru of South Hills Delivers Love, Hope, Warmth  –  Breanna S

On July 11, patients at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center in Bethel Park were delighted to receive a surprise courtesy of Subaru of South Hills. With the goal of providing simple comforts to people fighting cancer, the McMurray dealership donated 80 blankets and brought heartwarming messages of hope written by Subaru customers and staff, meant to inspire patients throughout their battle. Ihor Koval, General Sales Manager at Subaru of South Hills, was joined by Kipp Smiley to deliver the items to the cancer center. UPMC Senior Practice Manager Ashley Southern thanked Ihor and Kipp for their help and mentioned how much the patients have loved the blankets in the past. Subaru of South Hills has partnered with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), Western Pennsylvania & West Virginia Chapter, on their annual “Subaru Loves to Care” event since 2016. Over four years, the dealership has donated 340 brand-new blankets to their neighbors in need. This simple gesture goes a long way toward making treatment a little more bearable for patients, who often get cold during chemotherapy even in the middle of a hot summer. Thank you, Subaru of South Hills, for partnering with LLS and the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center in Bethel Park for this donation. You have our sincere gratitude for bringing hope and warmth to cancer patients and survivors.

Day West Liberty Surprises Local Cancer Patients  –  Breanna S

This was the third year in a row that Day West Liberty Subaru partnered with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) on their month-long "Subaru Loves to Care" campaign, which aims to help people live healthier lives. General Manager Chuck Masset had the opportunity to deliver 25 arts and crafts kits and 80 blankets to patients receiving treatment at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center – Upper St. Clair on July 12. The blankets will provide warmth to patients who get cold during treatment, and the art kits can be used by any children receiving treatment or who accompany their parents or family members to oncology appointments. Chuck also brought stacks of heartwarming messages written by West Liberty Subaru customers, meant to inspire patients throughout their battle with cancer. The cancer center’s staff said that their patients absolutely loved the materials that were donated, and are grateful to the Day West Liberty Subaru team for selecting them as a new partner this year. LLS sincerely thanks Day West Liberty Subaru and their customers, Subaru of America, and the staff and patients at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center – Upper St. Clair for making this wonderful program possible.
